Study Abroad Experiences Can Turn Into Job Offers

Shared by Keara DeKay - 6/19/2017

We have seen multiple students benefit directly from the contacts they made during their study abroad experience. Many students have gone on to careers in international education, business, and beyond. We currently have two Peer Advisors, Jill & Lizzie, who have been accepted to join the Peace Corps after they graduate in May. Another student, Kevin, did an International Business exchange with PUCP-Lima in Peru, one of the premier business schools in Latin America. He was able to take all of his classes in Spanish and learned first-hand about business practices in Peru. He already has job offers coming in from businesses in the United States as well as Latin America. These students have benefited both professionally and personally from international education programming, and these are only the ones that we see every day in our office- there are thousands more on whom we have made an impact both through international education and the globalization of the University of South Carolina.
