Study Abroad and Language Study Crucial for STEM Students Too

Shared by Rebecca Yoo - 6/19/2017

My international experiences during my undergraduate years at Georgia Tech have been critical in my success as a student and future professional. As a Civil Engineering major, I completed a language-intensive program in Mexico and Ecuador to advance my Spanish-speaking and business skills. My work in water resources with the County Medical Officer of Health in Tobago and a private engineering firm in Chile have exceptionally distinguished my candidacy when speaking with recruiters. Also, my participation with a hands-on water and sanitation research in Bolivia has further opened up countless professional networking opportunities and research resources.
